I needed to build a portion of the crashed house from “The Wizard of Oz” for The Catholic High School of Baltimore. This was for the scene where Dorothy first lands in Oz and the Wicked Witch of the East is crushed by her house. Because it was going to be a larger set piece and there’s not a lot of backstage room, I built it so it could fold flat when it wasn’t being used. It was a corner of the house, built on an angle to suggest that it had crashed. It probably could have used a little more “crash damage” but it worked out OK.
