The Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre needed someone to manage props for their performance of “Bullets Over Broadway: The Musical.” Although most of the job was organizing the props, there were a few things that needed to be made. The most time consuming were seven umbrellas with train wheels painted on them. Umbrella fabric isn’t designed to have liquid (like paint) stick to it, but the white fabric paint did a nice job. They looked great in the show. They also needed a dead body (old pillows wrapped in a sheet), an old pipe wrench (like in the game Clue, but light and unlikely to actually kill anyone, so 1″ rigid foam), some yellow dance ribbons and cheap juggling bags, and an old-fashioned box of dog biscuits (a cookie box with colored print-outs of a period-appropriate box glued on the outside).
