Shortly before Halloween one year, my son asked me if I would build him a costume of Foxy the Pirate Fox (a maniacal animatronic robot from the video game “Five Nights at Freddy’s“). I built the head on a batting helmet and carved the various parts out of rigid insulating foam. The head was angled so Foxy’s snout would mask my son’s face but still allow him to see. The claw hand was just a glove with silver-painted plywood pieces glued on while the hook-hand was some PVC pipe and wire painted silver. While I did carve some feet to fit over my son’s shoes, they slowed down the quest for candy, so he ditched that part of the costume pretty fast. I was so happy with how this turned out that Foxy’s head now hangs on the wall of my garage/workshop.
