Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come

Wood, wire mesh, and monster mud. Approximately 8' tall x 3' wide

The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come is the first “costume” project I’ve made.  It was used in The Catholic High School of Baltimore‘s production of “A Christmas Carol” and my daughter performed the role.  The framework is made up of plywood rings and 1×3 struts.  The shoulders are framed in plywood with a wire mesh covering.  The face is wire mesh covered in strips of cloth coated with “monster mud” (a mix of latex paint and drywall joint compound).  This was mounted to a foot pedal/pulley system so the ghost could nod.  The arms and hands are based on a design I saw at Instructables.com and while they look great, unfortunately the articulating fingers didn’t work out.  The black draping was made by one of the TCHS students.  The entire contraption is on wheels so the ghost can “float” across the stage.
